  3. Sponsor an event. Sponsoring an event might sound like a lot of money is involved, but it really depends on the type of event. One example of events that you can sponsor on a tight budget is local charity events. Find out how you can sponsor such events. Doing so will give you a venue to advertise to a large and diverse audience. In addition, this kind of publicity is good for your business because you are engaging in public service to also help your community. It will definitely be a good start for your business.

  4. Distribute flyers. Flyers are a great way of advertising your business while only spending a little money. Make sure that they are eye-catching with bold colors and a unique, clever catchphrase. Make sure that the overall look of your flyer matches your business as well. For instance, if you are advertising a daycare center, then you might want to feature kids and fun designs. However, if your business is a language center for older students, then a more professional look may be better.

  5. Use word of mouth. Never underestimate the power of word of mouth to attract customers. When first starting a business, you might want to offer promos or discounts to your first 100 customers. This gets customers in the door, which will result in free word-of-mouth advertising. You might also want to make use of a referral system, which entitles your current customers to rewards and freebies when they help you get more customers.

You have to learn how to advertise your business to get customers and sustain your business in the long run. You can start with the aforementioned low-cost ways of advertising your business. Once you start making more money, then you can progress to more expensive advertising, such as full-page ads in newspapers or commercials on television or radio.
