How to Apply Eye Makeup for Blue Eyes

How to Apply Eye Makeup for Blue Eyes

Blue eyes are very attractive. As striking as they are, they can be enhanced even further using eye makeup. Learning how to apply eye makeup for blue eyes involves experimentation with colors. Ideally, you should minimize the intensity of the shade for a softer look or use variations for a striking effect. Here are some pointers for you:

  1. Use a white cream base for long-lasting makeup. It sticks better than powder base eye makeup. Apply the same quantity on both eyelids using your finger tips. Make sure your hands are clean before you touch the eye makeup.

  2. Choose three shades of monochromatic, powdered eye shadow. Dark, medium, and light complementing colors are ideal. Examples include dark plum, medium mauve, and light lavender. Feel free to try out other shades for variation. This can help you vary your look for different occasions. You should also consider the color of your outfit when choosing the shades of your eye makeup.

  3. Apply dark eye shadow on the crease of your eyelid using a brush.

Extend the application above and below the crease. Do the same for both eyes. It is easy to do this when you have steady fingers as you can readily control your movements. This can be difficult at first, but you eventually get used to it.

  4. Dab the medium shade on the center of the lid and, with the use of a brush, extend the color across the lid. Blend it until it meets the first shade you applied earlier. Do the same on the other eye.

  5. Apply the light shade of eye shadow under your brow. Brush it downwards to merge with the two shades applied earlier. The same thing must be done for the other eye. Neutralize the combined colors by applying light dashes of blush-on onto the surface of the eyelids. That completes the application of eye shadow.

  6. Now itÂ’s time to apply eyeliner. Choose gray or taupe eyeliner and draw a line above the upper eye lashes. Do the same below the lower eye lashes. Bear in mind that, whatever you do on your left eye, you should do on your right eye. A slight difference may not be noticeable, but the key to good eye makeup application is balancing the application on both eyes.

  7. Apply mascara on your lashes. Make sure it is consistent with the color of your eyebrows and hair. Medium or dark brown would work best for you. You can curl your lashes first before applying mascara to make them look more dramatic. You can make them a bit thicker for a more sophisticated look or thinner for ordinary occasions.

Knowing how to apply eye makeup for blue eyes will make you tantalizing to look at. The goal is to draw attention to your blue eyes and not to the makeup itself. Blue eyes look good with few colors, unlike brown or black eyes which work well with a wider range of colors. Observe the recommended color combinations. They are composed of dark, medium, and light tones. The dark shade must be used to correct or contour the shape of the eyes. The medium shade is the filler to brighten the eyes, and the light shade highlights your assets.
