You have easy and quick solutions on how to cure smelly feet naturally. Most don’t cost much, and you may even find the needed ingredients are already available in your kitchen.

  1. Proper Hygiene Practices

When you take a bath, don’t just wash your feet. Exfoliate using a brush and antimicrobial soap to take off the dead skin cells and bacteria. Make sure to scrub in between your toes as well. Afterward, dry your feet completely to prevent the moisture from allowing bacteria to breed.

  2. Foot Soaks

You can try various foot soaks at home to prevent smelly feet.

Epsom Salt helps neutralize foot odor and soothes aching feet. Mix ½ cup of Epsom salt with 8 cups water in a wash basin and soak your feet in it for 30 minutes.

can do this once or twice every day.

Apple Cider Vinegar is very effective in getting rid of odors. It eradicates bacteria thriving on your feet and thus gets rid of bad smells. Soak your feet in ½ cup of apple cider vinegar and 5 cups of water mixed in a basin for 15 minutes. Wash your feet with cold water afterward and pat them dry. Do this twice per day.

Baking Soda neutralizes the acidity of sweat and thus reduces the amount of bacteria on your feet. It has been used for ages as an effective remedy for foot odor. Add one tablespoon of baking soda in one quart of warm water. Soak your feet in this solution for 20 minutes before bedtime for 7 consecutive nights. You can even sprinkle some baking soda on your socks and shoes before putting them on.

  3. Habits to Prevent Smelly Feet

Avoid wearing the same shoes for two consecutive days. Alternate wearing suitable shoes every day. This gives each pair at least 24 hours to dry out. Instead of nylon socks, buy wool or cotton socks. Remember to change your socks at least once a day. If you are susceptible to smelly feet, try using medicated insoles that can help deodorize your feet.

As an extra measure to avoid smelly feet, spray or apply an antiperspirant or deodorant on your feet. They can work just as well for your feet as they do for your underarms. If you want to use a specific foot spray product, make sure that you air dry your feet after using it.

In a nutshell, proper hygiene is still the primary solution to smelly feet. But as mentioned above, you can complement proper hygiene practices with foot soaks and other habits. These tips on how to cure smelly feet naturally will definitely save you from embarrassing moments among others.
