Oily skin is a very common problem among teenagers, male or female. Young and mature adults can have it too. Oily skin should not be taken for granted because it is prone to acne breakouts. Blackheads and acne can be easily infected with bacteria too if one is not careful. This can cause much discomfort and can alter one’s appearance.   1. Wash your face every 3 hours during your waking hours. Make sure you wash it at least twice a day: preferably in the morning and before you retire in the evening. The morning wash will take away the oil that was produced overnight. The evening wash is mandatory so that you do not sleep with a dirty face. Sleeping without cleaning the face encourages acne and blackhead formation as well as discomfort.

  2. Avoid eating foodstuffs that are fatty (e.g. fried dishes, animal fats and processed food).



    Sweets should also be avoided. Take fruits for dessert instead of cakes and pastries. Fresh fruit juices are beneficial additions to your every meal.

  5. Make a paste from almond meal or flour with honey. Start with 2 tablespoons of honey and a tablespoon of almond meal or flour. Add some more honey if it’s too dry, and add more almond meal or flour if it is too moist. Apply it on your skin with your fingers. Let it stay on your face for at least ten minutes before you rinse it off.

  6. Make a facial mask by combining one part of oatmeal with one part of aloe vera. Adjust their measurement proportions if needed to make sure that they remain on your face for at least 15 minutes. The oatmeal will absorb the excess oil and the aloe vera will make the necessary repairs of damaged skin cells.

  7. Mix 1 tablespoon each of lemon, orange juice, honey, and blend thoroughly. Apply the mixture on your face and let it stay for about 15 minutes. Rinse it off and savor the refreshing feeling.

  8. Grate one whole cucumber and squeeze it for its extract. Add one teaspoon of lemon juice and cover your face and neck with it. Leave it on for an hour to eliminate unwanted oil. Continue doing it if your skin is still oily or repeat when there’s a recurrence.

  9. Beat 1 egg white and mix it with the pulp of half an avocado. Add 1 teaspoon of lime juice and load the mixture into the blender. Apply the blended mixture on your skin and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off.
