How to Get Rid of Pimples

Blemishes like pimples, acne, and the scars what they leave behind can sap your self-esteem. And it isn’t just a matter of vanity: According to studies, people with clear skin are perceived as being more confident, more competent, and more credible than those with poor complexions. At school or at work, having pimple-free skin works to your advantage. If you have tried all sorts of homemade remedies and skin care products, but still haven’t found out how to get rid of pimples effectively, it may be time to get back to basics. All too often, we spend a fortune on skin products which treat breakouts, but neglect to address the issues which caused them in the first place. In this post, we will share ten tips for beating pimples and blemishes.

  1. To be free from pimples, you need to do two things: first, you must treat the existing breakouts; second, you have to prevent new ones from erupting. Compared to more complex forms of acne, pimples can be resolved with home treatment. Salicylic acid-based products are often effective against pimples.

cream or gel preparation for spot treatment should be enough for mild cases.

  2. Learn how to gently yet thoroughly clean your skin, and do it religiously. Pimples start when bacteria and dirt clog pores, leading to inflammation. This means that you have to remove the dirt and excess oil from your face without damaging it. Otherwise, you risk creating minute breaks where the bacteria can enter. A good facial wash followed by an alcohol-free toner should take care of that.

  3. Once a month, have deep facial cleansing at your favorite spa or clinic. This will remove the impurities that can accumulate despite daily cleaning.

  4. Go to bed with a clean, moisturized face. During sleep, your pores open up. This is why sleeping with makeup on almost always leads to new blemishes the next day. You might as well make the most of this period and slather on nutrients that are good for your skin. They will be absorbed better then than during the day.

  5. Only use clean makeup brushes and applicators. Most women would die before using dirty towels to dry their faces, but would go for months without changing the sponges in their compacts. Makeup brushes and tools should be washed weekly, especially if you use them to apply creams and liquids (which are more prone to bacterial growth).

  6. Wash and disinfect your hands before handling makeup, and avoid sharing your makeup unless you are using disposable applicators (which prevent double dipping into the product). You don’t want to introduce bacteria into your beauty products by being sloppy about hygiene, do you?

  7. Note which ingredients cause your skin to react so that you can avoid using products that contain them. Dispose of beauty products which cause you to break out no matter how expensive they may be—the best makeup in the world can’t beat the appearance of good skin.

  8. Only wear makeup when you need to. If you must wear it every day, look for formulations which won’t harm your skin. Mineral makeup and BB creams are products from which your skin stands to benefit for reasons other than cosmetic ones.

  9. Eat right and get enough sleep. These are two ways to impact the appearance of your skin. When nourished with essential vitamins, minerals and proteins, your skin looks better and feels good.

  10. Drink enough water. Water flushes out the toxins from the body so that there are smaller amounts to eliminate through the skin.

When learning how to get rid of pimples, you must understand that your skin needs to be kept clean and well-nourished. Be careful about using new products that may cause more harm than good. When in doubt, ask your skin doctor for recommendations.
