After combing the hair completely, wash the hair with regular shampoo and rinse with water. Repeat the shampooing and rinsing twice.

Do this method every day for one whole week. For the next couple of weeks, comb the hair to check if the lice are indeed gone.

Take note that you have to wash the comb and towels properly after using them to take off the lice. Soak them in 2% Lysol solution for 30 minutes and rinse them properly. As for the comb, soak it in vinegar for 30 minutes after use.

  2. Natural Remedy #2: Essential Oils as Head Lice Treatment

You can use either tea tree oil or lavender oil for this treatment. Apply a small amount of the essential oil first to your skin to check if you are allergic to it. If not, then you can proceed to using it on your scalp.

Pour 15 to 20 drops of either tea tree oil or lavender oil in ½ cup of olive oil. Dip a cotton ball in the essential oil mixture and apply it to the scalp. Leave the mixture to set on the scalp overnight. Alternatively, you may also add 15 to 20 drops of your preferred essential oil to ½ cup of rubbing alcohol. Spray your hair with the solution, and leave it to set on your hair for 12 hours.

Comb your hair the next morning and wash your hair twice with shampoo. Keep doing this ritual until you get rid of all the lice. You can also use the abovementioned mixtures as a preventive treatment.
