How to Lighten your Skin

Take a soft towel and dip it into the milk. Rub the towel gently all over your face (and body). Let the milk penetrate deeply into your skin before rinsing with cold water.

  5. Mix 2 tablespoons of rice flour and 2 teaspoons of fresh milk. Make a good blend and then apply it on your face. Allow the paste to dry before rinsing.

  6. Olay CC cream is one of the newest skin lightening and rejuvenating creams on the market today. It has the power to minimize dark spots and to lighten fine lines and wrinkles.

  7. Opt for an over-the-counter, chemical-based exfoliant. Glycolic and alpha hydroxy acids are the best at evening out pigmentation. They remove dead skin and fine lines in certain areas, but they do not target brown spots directly. In “6 Ways to Brighten Your Skin,” an article on the Total Beauty website, Francesca Fusco, a skin care expert recommends the pairing of the skin-lightening product, Bliss That’s Incredi-Peel, with chemical exfoliants containing glycolic and alpha hydroxy acids.   8. Try Shiseido’s White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum. It has plant-based whitening ingredients called yomogi and angelica, which are Japanese botanicals. They help to break down the melanin fast and improve skin texture in just 14 days. The product can be purchased for about $125.

  9. Nuance Salma Hayek Renewing and Brightening Serum is a popular skin-whitening product that comes equipped with licorice extract. It costs only $19.99.

  10. Always make sunscreen a part of your daily skin care regimen. Apply it generously on the exposed skin areas, including your face. Choose the sunscreen protector with the highest level of SPF to guard you from the harmful UV rays. It will protect your skin from darkening further as well.
