    As you can see, this is more achievable than immediately aiming to run for an hour every day after being sedentary for years. You will build the habit of moving around more often without the added cost of going to the gym.   2. Eat less

    Exercising more is useless if you don’t change your eating habits. Eating less doesn’t mean depriving yourself. It can mean smaller portions of fatty food or fast food and junk food. If you’re the type who likes to be precise about what less means, you can start counting your calories and making sure you eat fewer calories than what you are burning through exercise.

    If you are eating less of one type of food, you should eat more of a better type of food, so you don’t feel deprived and break the healthy eating habit altogether. For example, you can switch from refined grains to whole grains. This is easier to remember if you think brown carbs over white carbs: wheat bread over white bread and wild brown, red, or black rice over white rice. You can mindlessly munch on as many celery sticks and carrots as you like during snack times or television time.

  3. Consider cosmetic surgery

    For those who are seriously overweight or obese, the previous two steps help in building the habit of living more healthy. However, cosmetic surgery to remove fat could further motivate those who are disheartened at the slow progress. One such procedure is liposuction, which literally sucks the fat from areas in the body such as the belly. You will need to consult your doctor to find out if you would be a good candidate for the procedure. After the procedure, you will still need to perform the previous steps to keep losing fat and keep it off.

The above-mentioned steps on how to lose fat are the main tenets to weight loss. The examples given are achievable and realistic, especially for those who were not consciously trying to lose weight before. If you need to enroll in a weight-loss program to give yourself more accountability, you can do that as well, but be aware that you will be wasting money if you cannot sustain it.
