  1. Eat a healthy diet. One of the main things that you should do to lose belly fat is to watch what you are eating. Drinking at least eight glasses of water every day will help make your fat-busting efforts more effective. It is also a good way to flush out toxins from your body, since the more water you take, the more excess you flush out.

  4. Avoid midnight snacks. The problem with comfort eating is that you sleep afterwards; hence you do not burn what you ate. This causes high blood sugar while you are sleeping, and this excess sugar will easily be converted and stored as belly fat. Moreover, blood sugar fluctuations lead to an increase in appetite, so don’t be surprised if you tend to feel hungrier the next day. If you have cravings at night, you can learn to suppress them by following a low glycemic diet. Eat a filling dinner, and then stop eating at least two hours from bedtime.

  5. Avoid getting stressed out. One of the reasons why belly fat is hard to get rid of is the fact that it is largely influenced by your hormones. The stress hormone, cortisol, is stimulated every time you are under stress, and it causes extra storage of fat in your belly. That is why it is important to take a break from work every now and then. Do not underestimate the value of sleep and relaxation.
