how to make Christmas candy

Christmas candies are one of the most sought after desserts in every Christmas holiday party. Besides cakes, cupcakes and cookies, Christmas candies are like the cherry on top of a very luscious sundae. This is the time where we can forget our diet and stuff our faces with yummy, sinful candies. You can either buy them at the various grocery stores or you can learn how to make Christmas candy yourself and make as many as you can! Now, we all know that it is during this holiday that we can be a little pressed for time with all the preparations; decorating, cooking and everything else. This is exactly why no-cook Christmas candy can be a life-saver and can still bring desserts to a whole new level. Here are three super-easy, no-cook recipes for Christmas candies that you can prepare ahead of time. Chocolate Fudge

  1. Prepare the following ingredients: 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1/3 cup of evaporated milk, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1 ½ cup of small marshmallows, 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips, ¼ cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts or almonds) and ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.

e best thing about this is that you can add more ingredients if you want. You can add in raisins, dried blueberries, dried apricots and many more. Just make sure to adjust the amount of the other ingredients. You will also need an 8-inch square baking dish.

  2. The next thing is to make sure that your baking dish is properly lined with either foil or waxed paper. This will make it easier for you to remove the fudge once it is done.

  3. Now mix sugar, milk, butter and salt. Put the mixture into a large saucepan and bring it to a full boil over medium heat. Make sure that you stir it constantly. This will take about 4 to 5 minutes. Then remove from heat right away.

  4. While it’s still warm, add the marshmallows, chocolate chips, nuts (or other ingredients that you have included) and the vanilla extract. After adding all of those, briskly stir the mixture for a minute or until the marshmallows melt.

  5. Pour the mixture into the baking pan and refrigerate for 2 hours or until its firm.

  6. Once ready, lift the fudge from the pan by pulling the foil or waxed paper. Remove the foil or waxed paper then cut the fudge into bite-size squares.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
  1. Prepare the following ingredients: a cup of melted butter, 2 cups of crushed Graham crackers, 2 cups of confectioners’ sugar, a cup, plus 4 tablespoons, of your favorite brand of peanut butter, 1½ cups of semisweet chocolate chips. You should also prepare a 9 by 13 inch pan.

  2. Mix the butter, Graham crackers, sugar and a cup of the peanut butter. Make sure to blend the mixture well.

  3. Cover the bottom of the baking pan with this mixture to form a crust base. There’s no need to grease the pan.

  4. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or in a bowl over simmering water. Make sure that you don’t burn it. While it’s melting pour in the remaining 4 tablespoonfuls of peanut butter and stir the mixture until properly incorporated and smooth.

  5. Pour this mixture over the prepared crust and refrigerate for an hour or until the chocolate is firm.

  6. Once ready, cut into squares and serve.

There are no concrete rules for how to make Christmas candy. The key is to make it as simple as possible and to make treats that you would want for Christmas.
