How to Make Organic Cat Food

How to Make Organic Cat Food

All of us are concerned about our pets’ health and wellbeing as we want them to be with us longer. We always want to give them the best when it comes to food. Organic food for pets is becoming popular now - because of its nutritional value and lack of harmful chemicals. You can just buy this at your local pet shop, but if you want to make sure it is really healthy, you can make it yourself. Here is the procedure on how to make organic cat food:

  1. Buy organic meat from your local meat shop. It could be chicken, pork or beef. Make sure it is very fresh. You can also buy meat with bone and marrow, but you will have to grind this with an electric grinder before you can mix it with the meat you bought.  The advantage of organic meat is that it does not have any chemicals in it, which makes it very safe for your pet cat.

  2. You have the option to slice the meat into small cubes or just grind it. Sliced meat makes your cat chew, while ground meat makes it much easier for it to eat. Add slices of animal organs too, such as liver, with the meat as this is very rich in protein, vitamins and minerals.

    et this meat mixture aside.

  3. In a bowl, mix 2 cups of water with four yolks of egg. Add in smashed boiled squash if available. Put in a little salmon oil too. To add more to its nutritional value, add in psyllium, granular supplement, and vitamin E and B complex.  You can just purchase this from your local pet shop.

  4. Add the mixture to the meat and mix well. If your cat is not obese, you can also add some carbohydrates like boiled rice and potato. Store this mixture in the refrigerator and just get a portion every time you need to feed your pet cat. Before you switch to this organic cat food, finish all the commercially bought cat food. Give the organic cat food to your cat when it is hungry to make sure it will eat it. In case it doesn’t, throw it away after 30 minutes. Remember that the meat is raw and gets spoiled after a while when taken out of the fridge. Serve the same organic food mixture during the next feeding.

  5. Never add salt or sugar to your homemade organic cat food. You can give little treats to your pet cat after it finishes the serving as a reward. Remember that this is really good for its nutrition. It will keep your cat away from common diseases when the cat gets older. Make sure that your cat takes in water along with it to keep it hydrated.

When you know the basics on how to make organic cat food, you can be more creative next time. Make a variety of mixtures - chicken this time and maybe beef another time so your pet cat can enjoy a variety and not get bored with it. You can also do it ground or sliced, so the appearance changes from one meal to the next. Make sure you include the date every time you make organic cat food. As some ingredients are raw, they do not last very long.
