how to make spaghetti sauce

For spaghetti lovers, nothing compares to a gratifying serving of spaghetti that’s superbly cooked. This can only be achieved with good preparation, ample time, and great tasting spaghetti sauce. The latter is undoubtedly crucial to the final taste of your spaghetti. How to make spaghetti sauce appetizing entails carefully choosing ingredients and an eye for detailed preparation. These days, however, one can easily pick from an array of tasty canned and bottled sauces. There’s not much need for the nitty-gritty details of sauce preparation. Undeniably though, nothing compares to the experience of savoring spaghetti topped with a sauce that’s made right in your own kitchen, peppered with your own choices of vegetables and spices. As compared to commercial spaghetti sauces, homemade spaghetti sauce makes pasta eating an experience worth the hassle. Here are simple steps to make a spaghetti sauce that’s truly your own:

  1. Get the following ingredients: 2 tbsp. olive oil, butter; 1 chopped onion, chopped pepper, ½ cup chopped mushrooms, chopped carrots, chopped celery, garlic, ground beef (optional), tomato paste, 3 cups diced tomatoes, 1 tsp.

, 2 tsp. sugar (optional), ½ cup red or green pepper, oregano, basil, parmesan cheese. Give yourself about 10 minutes to prepare all these ingredients.

  2. Other necessary items include a pan, strainer, wooden spoon, and a large pot. Make sure that all these are clean and thoroughly washed.

  3. Begin by putting two tablespoons of olive oil and butter in the pan. To melt the latter, turn the heat to medium low.

  4. Sauté chopped onions in olive oil. Then add chopped pepper, mushrooms, carrots, and celery.

  5. If you prefer having ground beef, cook it at medium-high heat with the minced garlic and onions and stir occasionally for 10 minutes. Cooking on medium heat will allow you to sauté the garlic and onions without burning them while making sure that the beef is cooked.

  6. Make sure to remove the fat from the cooked ground beef, if there is any. Then add tomato paste and diced tomatoes to the pan. Afterwards, add the other ingredients like salt, sugar, chili peppers, oregano and basil. Cook for a few minutes at medium low or low heat. Stir every now and then to prevent the sauce from sticking to the bottom of the pan and burning.

  7. Put spaghetti sauce over spaghetti noodles and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Following these steps will make your spaghetti sauce an instant favorite among your family and friends. Knowing how to make spaghetti sauce is much more rewarding than using canned or bottled sauces. For one, you can decide on what ingredients you would like to include. You can also ensure that they are healthier and more suitable to your diet. Research shows that people whose diets are rich in lycopene are at a lower risk of acquiring certain types of cancer, such as those that affect the lungs, stomach, and prostrate. Certain vitamins can also be found in healthy spaghetti sauces like Vitamin C, potassium, and folate.
