How to Protect Skin from the Sun

During this time, the sun produces more ultraviolet rays that can darken skin and cause damage.

In addition, you should avoid using tanning oils because they enhance the effects of ultraviolet rays on your skin.

  4. Protect your eyes. Aside from your skin, you should also remember to protect your eyes because they can get burned by the sun, too. Whenever you go out, do not forget to wear sunglasses to shade your eyes from the sun. Another option is to wear a broad-brimmed hat that is big enough to shade your whole face. You may also opt to use an umbrella.

  5. Take precautions, regardless of the weather. You might think that on cloudy days, you don’t have a chance of getting sunburned. Don’t be fooled by the weather because ultraviolet rays can still penetrate clouds. In addition, you should still practice wearing sunscreen during the winter season, especially if you enjoy outdoor winter sports like skiing. The sun still shines during the winter, and the longer you stay at a high altitude, the more prone you are to be hit by ultraviolet rays because there is little atmosphere filtering the sun’s rays at higher elevations.
