How to Put on False Eyelashes

How to Put on False Eyelashes

Gone are the days when false eyelashes looked really faux and unnatural. Now, you can wear false eyelashes without other people looking weirdly at you: like you just came out of the carnival. Your appearance depends on how you apply the faux lashes, so it is essential for you to learn how to put on false eyelashes. That way, your eyes will look as natural as possible. Here are some tips for you to follow:

  1. Shop for a pair of false eyelashes. You have different options when it comes to choosing false lashes: a full set or clusters of individual lashes. The former will create the illusion of thicker eyelashes, while the latter will let you fill in sparse areas of your lashes. If you decide to buy the full set, you can cut the lashes into separate clusters. These false eyelashes can be used a couple of times.

  2. Before applying your eyelashes, you have to measure them to make sure that they follow the contour of your eyes. You also need to measure their length to ensure that they do not accidentally poke your eyes.

If they are too long, you can trim them to different lengths to make them look natural. The longest clusters are best located at the outermost corners of your eyes. Trim your lashes accordingly using small nail scissors.

  3. Before putting them on, prepare your real eyelashes by curling them with an eyelash curler. Make sure that there is almost no visible gap between your real and fake eyelashes. You can do this by concealing the lash roots with eyeliner.

  4. Squeeze some lash glue onto the back of your hand or some other surface. Let it dry for about a minute until its consistency becomes tacky.

  5. Pick up a portion of your false eyelashes using a pair of tweezers. Dip it into the glue. Blow into the eyelashes so that the glue is less runny when you apply them to your natural ones. If you are going to put on a whole set of false eyelashes, apply glue on them using a toothpick or fine makeup brush. Using your fingers to apply glue can be quite messy.

  6. If you are going to use individual eyelashes, start applying them at the outermost corner of your eyes. Bring the eyelashes close to your natural lash line, and then wedge them there. Hold them in place until they dry, probably for a few seconds. Put your false eyelashes on areas that have sparse lashes. To look more natural, leave some space in between the lashes. Stay away from the innermost corners of the eyes.

  7. If you are applying a whole set of lashes, apply them on the lid and use your fingers to hold them until the glue dries. This will take between 30 seconds and a minute. If the lashes are still too long, you can trim them.

  8. To bond the false eyelashes with the real ones, you can apply some mascara on them while pressing your fingers behind the fake eyelashes.

  9. If there are any more gaps between the false and real eyelashes, you can mask them with eyeliner.

You can enhance the look of your false eyelashes by applying eye makeup, such as a dark eye shadow, to camouflage them and make your eyes appear more dramatic. Having false eyelashes is not something to be ashamed of. Knowing how to put on false eyelashes can help you heighten the beauty of your eyes, thus improving your overall look.
