  6. Another option is to use virgin coconut oil, which you can find at most supermarkets and wellness shops. Massage it on your scalp and smooth over your crowning glory. You can cover your hair with a shower cap, then wrap it with a towel and leave it on overnight. In the morning, wash off the application with a gentle shampoo.

  7. Light mayonnaise can help ease the frizz and dryness of your hair. Spread just enough to cover your strands and leave it on overnight under a shower cap.

  8. Always condition your hair and apply a leave-in conditioner to keep your hair moisturized. You may also use protein or deep treatments at certain times during the week to restore your hair's keratin bonds.

  9. Make sure your hair is protected from the sun and wind. Wear a hat or use an umbrella when going out. You can also use a styling product that acts as a sunscreen for your hair.

  10. Brush your hair with care and keep it from tangling or getting caught by various items throughout the day. You can use hair ties to keep your mane in place.

  11. At night, wear a satin sleep cap or cover your hair with a satin or silk scarf to prevent the strands from rubbing unnecessarily or tangling.

  12. Do you swim? Cover your hair with a swim cap to protect your tresses from chlorine or salt.
