How to Stimulate Facial Hair Growth

Unlike women, who can step out of the house looking more glamorous with the artistic use of makeup, men don’t really have much of a choice when it comes to changing up the way their face looks, except in one aspect: facial hair. When styled correctly, growing out facial hair can give you a certain manly charm. There are several styles that you can choose from, whether you are into moustaches, beards, goatees, soul patches, etc. Choose something that will flatter your features and the shape of your face. Remember that you can use it to emphasize some areas of the face or correct what you don’t like. For example, if your jaw line is too weak, you can camouflage it with a close-cropped semi-beard. For a face that’s a little too wide, a vertical soul patch can draw the eye up and down instead of side to side. The best part is that it is just hair; if you end up not liking it, you can shave it off and try again. The tough part in wanting to style your facial hair is waiting for it to grow in. This won’t be a problem if you’ve already done it before, but if you haven’t, the first few cycles of hair growth tend to be less luxuriant than they should be.

u want your facial hair to be thicker and shinier than it is, here’s how to stimulate facial hair growth:

  1. Hair growth is largely influenced by the amount of testosterone in your body. Testosterone is the principal sex hormone in males. Although both men and women have testosterone in their bodies, males produce ten times more. It is responsible for the traits that are considered masculine: body hair, physical strength, virility, etc. Therefore, if you want your hair to grow more, you need to encourage your body to produce more testosterone.

  2. The first thing you can do to boost your testosterone level is to avoid stress. The body is a complex machine that is kept in balance by hormones and cortisol, the chemical that is released when our body experiences any kind of stress. Cortisol is a major testosterone antagonist.

  3. Next, make sure that you get enough sleep every night. At least six hours of uninterrupted quality sleep is recommended because it is during this time that the body produces growth hormone. Aside from making you taller and bigger, growth hormone also causes the cells of the body to regenerate and reproduce, especially hair follicles.

  4. Get some sun in order to stimulate the production of vitamin D. If you live in a climate where the sun only makes sporadic appearances during certain parts of the year, you can take a vitamin D supplement. Vitamin D is linked to optimal testosterone levels, and it also plays a significant role in the formation of keratin, the protein that makes up hair.

  5. Keep your skin clean and properly moisturized. If you haven’t already, adopt a twice-daily skin care ritual composed of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, with a weekly bout of exfoliation. Dry or oily skin can actually retard hair growth because dead skin cells, oil, and dust particles can clog around the roots of the hair and keep it from growing at its natural rate. Facial steaming can also help, especially with whiskers, since the skin on the jaw line tends to be thicker than the rest of the face.

When figuring out how to stimulate facial hair growth, we recommend exploring natural options first like eating a protein-rich, low-fat diet and getting regular workouts. Heavy lifting and sprinting have positive effects on testosterone production, as well as taking vitamin B7 or biotin, which stimulates the body to produce more keratin.
