Vitamin D is linked to optimal testosterone levels, and it also plays a significant role in the formation of keratin, the protein that makes up hair.

  5. Keep your skin clean and properly moisturized. If you haven’t already, adopt a twice-daily skin care ritual composed of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, with a weekly bout of exfoliation. Dry or oily skin can actually retard hair growth because dead skin cells, oil, and dust particles can clog around the roots of the hair and keep it from growing at its natural rate. Facial steaming can also help, especially with whiskers, since the skin on the jaw line tends to be thicker than the rest of the face.
