how to treat bed bugs bites

You can never stop going through the process on how to treat bed bugs bites over and over again if you won’t do something to eliminate the bed bug infestation in your property. Bed bug bites can become infected and cause serious skin diseases. You can actually treat them just by using a paste made from baking soda and water. There are also other natural alternatives depending on how extreme the bites are. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Make sure to wash the bed bug bites with soap and water. Bed bugs cannot make a person internally sick unless the bites get infected. Itchiness can become severe when the bites are not cleaned properly. Bacteria from any germs can trigger an infection. Wash them thoroughly before they can multiply.

  2. Make a thick, sticky paste with water and baking soda. Observe the consistency. Too runny or too thick will not make it stay. Attain the texture that can penetrate your skin. When done right, it should stick to your skin for a long time. Just add water if it’s too stiff, or add more baking soda if it’s the other way around.

ulate the amount of each ingredient. You might end up having a mound of paste that you won’t have any use for.

  3. Allow the paste to stand until completely dry.  Wait for an hour or so.  You can leave it on your skin until it comes off by itself or give it a few hours only. You should feel some kind of relief after the application. You can reapply the paste after clearing away the old portions from your skin. Do not apply it in layers. The second application will be useless if you do that.

  4. Gently wash the paste off and pat dry. Once dried, the paste can’t do much for the bites anymore. They will just look awful on your skin. Washing them gently will allow you to see what’s left of the bites.

  5. Try other natural remedies for treating bed bug bites if you are not satisfied with the results of the baking soda and water paste. Witch hazel, St. John’s worth, and lemon juice are astringents that can remove itching.

  6. Opt for the stronger gel from the Aloe Vera plant if the bites are really bad. It contains anti-fungal and antibiotic properties that counteract the effects of the bites! Just cut a tip from the leaf of the plant and apply the open side to the bite. The Aloe Vera extracts will be released by pressing the stem against your skin.

  7. Go for the traditional treatment bath with peppermint oil. Fill the tub with bath water. Add a half cup of peppermint oil. Immerse your body under the treated water. Enjoy the bath as it eliminates the itchiness.

  8. Resort to over-the-counter medications for a quick fix. Buy Cortisone cream, Calamine lotion, and Hydrocortisone cream to stop itching really fast. Naproxen or Ibuprofen or anti- histamines like Benadryl will also help reduce swelling. A light paste of aspirin and water can also replace the baking soda and water mixture. Any topical anesthetic containing Pramoxine can be applied externally.

It should not be so much of a hassle knowing how to treat bed bug bites. Bed bug infestations can happen anywhere even in posh city dwellings. You just have to be ready with these treatments once you sense that your area has this problem. Children may not be able to tolerate the discomfort the same as adults. They will be harder to contain when they are restless. Make sure that you have these medications in place while figuring out how to get rid of the infestation problem.
